Prosthetic Construction - Part 4

The ear prosthesis is initially carved in wax.

This enables adjustments to the shape and fit to be made. The Prosthetist will usually spend several hours carving and adjusting the prosthesis to get the best aesthetic result.

Once the position and shape have been determined, the edge of the wax prosthesis is tightly adapted to the patients’ skin.
