Patient-Specific Medical Models are physical reproductions of anatomy from CT, CBCT, MRI, photogrammetry or surface scan data.  They are used to rehearse surgeries, to communicate procedures to patients, as in-theatre visual references or as jigs to assist the shaping of off-the-shelf implants.  They are fabricated using Additive Manufacturing (or “3D Printing”) technologies.

We can receive DICOM data by post and now digitally via the secure Image Exchange Portal (IEP).  [SETUP HERE].

We prioritise according to capacity and case urgency.  Best turnaround time is 1 day from receipt of data to dispatch.

A range of materials is available – including ONE suitable for sterilisation and handling by the scrubbed team in theatre.  THIS MUST BE SPECIFIED FROM THE OUTSET.  Materials and fabrication process datasheets are available [HERE].

Recommended CT scan protocols can be found [HERE].

PDR's data handling policy can be downloaded from [HERE].
