Maxillofacial Prosthetics Course, 7th - 9th April 2010

CARTIS team members will be contributing to a course on Digital Design in Facial Prosthetics to be held at iRSM, Edmonton, Canada in conjunction with University of Illinois at Chicago and Morriston Hospital, 7th – 9th April 2010. Peter Evans will be lecturing and Dominic Eggbeer will also contribute to the course and help establish research projects. The course will provide tuition on digital technologies for planning, design and fabrication of prosthetic devices. It will include hands on experience with patient specific data to practice design fundamentals for manufacture of wax prototype parts and substructure components. A few places are still avilable.

Introduction to Mimics and SimPlant CMF, 8th and 9th September 2006, Cardiff 

This course was held at PDR and received positive feedback.  We are planning to repeat the course in the future.  If you are interested in attending please let us know.  The content and other useful information can be found below.  CARTIS would like to thank all those that attended and contributed to the course and Materialise for their valuable assistance.

Mimics software was used to import medical scan data and provide the user with the ability to generate various forms of virtual and physical three-dimensional models. SimPlant CMF was used to  plan surgical procedures including distraction osteogenesis. The course entitled attendees to 12 CPD points and was recognised by the Institute of Maxillofacial Prosthetists & Technologists. The course was endorsed and sponsored by Materialise.
